主題：Extreme events in the forced Liénard system
內(nèi)容簡(jiǎn)介：We observe extremely large amplitude intermittent spiking in a dynamical variable of a periodically forced Liénard systemand characterize them as extreme events which are rare, but recurrent and larger in amplitude than a threshold level. The extreme events occur via two processes, an interior crisis and intermittency. The probability of occurrence of the events shows long-tail distributions in both the cases. We provide evidence of the extreme events in an experiment using an electronic circuit analog of the Lienard oscillator that shows perfect agreement with the numerical results.

Syamal K. Dana，印度加爾各答Jadavpur大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系名譽(yù)研究員。羅茲科技大學(xué)（Politechnika Lodzka）客座教授，波蘭羅茲榮譽(yù)科學(xué)家，意大利里雅斯特Abdus Salam ICTP訪(fǎng)問(wèn)學(xué)者，理學(xué)碩士考試銀牌得主。研究領(lǐng)域有：混沌與同步、實(shí)驗(yàn)混沌、復(fù)雜系統(tǒng)、極端事件、生態(tài)網(wǎng)絡(luò)等，擔(dān)任Physical Review E, Chaos, Physics Letters A, Physica D, European Physics Letters, Int.J.Bifurcation and Chaos, PRAMANA-J.Physics等期刊的審稿人，參加主持研究項(xiàng)目9項(xiàng)，參與國(guó)際演講46次，著書(shū)一本，發(fā)表論文90余篇。
