報(bào)告摘要:I will discuss some metamaterial carrying chiral structures that exhibit some interesting properties. That includes networks that have non-trivial topology that can couple orbital angular momenta with the wave vector. Such systems exhibit angular momentum-dependent one-way edge states, and their properties can be described using local Chern numbers. Other examples include systems that can realize ‘a(chǎn)nti-duality’, leading to nodal lines in momentum space. Such systems also exhibit one-way edge modes that can be used to achieve optical pulling in a channel.

報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介:陳子亭教授(Che Ting Chan),美國(guó)物理學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)士(Fellow),現(xiàn)為香港科技大學(xué)物理學(xué)系講座教授、超材料研究中心主任、香港科技大學(xué)科研院院長(zhǎng)(Director of Research Office),擔(dān)任《ACS Photonics》期刊副主編。曾任香港科技大學(xué)高等研究院院長(zhǎng)。曾獲得海外華人物理學(xué)會(huì)亞洲成就獎(jiǎng)(2000)、Croucher高級(jí)研究成就獎(jiǎng)(2010)、邁克爾?蓋爾杰出教學(xué)獎(jiǎng)(Michael Gale Medal, 1999)和布里淵獎(jiǎng)?wù)拢?013)。陳教授在光子晶體、超材料領(lǐng)域的多項(xiàng)開(kāi)創(chuàng)性工作在著名期刊Science,Nature Photonics,Nature Materials,Nature Physics,Physical Review Letters、Physical Review X上發(fā)表70余篇。
